Former Olympic figure skater Tessa Virtue and her husband, Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly, are expecting their first child. Virtue announced the news on Tuesday via Instagram, sharing a photo of herself cradling her baby bump.

"We are so excited to announce that we are expecting our first child!" Virtue wrote in the caption. "This is a dream come true for us, and we can't wait to meet the little one who is already filling our hearts with so much love and joy."

Virtue and Rielly married in July 2021 after getting engaged in 2019. The couple has been together for several years and has kept their relationship relatively private.

Virtue is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, winning in 2010, 2014, and 2018. She is also a two-time world champion and five-time Canadian champion. She retired from skating in 2018.

Rielly is a seven-year NHL veteran who has spent his entire career with the Maple Leafs. He has represented Canada internationally at the World Championships and the Olympics.
